Senior Mining Engineer

Resolute is a successful gold miner with more than 30 years of continuous production across West Africa.

 

Resolute’s key assets consist of the Syama Gold Mine in Mali (Syama) and the Mako Gold Mine in Senegal (Mako). Syama operates a long-life sub-level cave and various open pits, with underground feasibility studies underway to extend open pit into another long-life underground stoping operation. Mako is a long-life open pit operation.  Resolute continues exploration on multiple Greenfields and Brownfields tenements.

 

Resolute trades on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE) under the ticker RSG.

Position:

Resolute are looking for a Senior Mining Engineer to fill a permanent role at the Perth Corporate Office (Perth CBD). Whilst the role is Perth based, there will be an expectation for some travelling to site, subject to COVID restrictions.

 

Overview:

The Senior Mining Engineer provides technical mining engineering expertise and support to operations and project teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate medium and long-term mine plans and ore reserve optimisation.
  • Prepare life of mine development and production schedules in conjunction with Operational teams.
  • Grow strong working relationships with site-based teams at each operating mine.
  • Provide mining technical expertise in assessing growth opportunities or acquisition targets.
  • Promote technical innovation and be a key member of the team implementing the business improvements to mining practices.
  • Review and maintain standards for design, reporting, benchmarking, forecasting and budgeting for Operations and Business Development.
  • Provide technical support to Operations to enable required performance standards to be achieved.
  • Provide a key mining interface between Operations, Project Delivery, Corporate Strategy and Exploration activities. 

 

Key Experience & Knowledge:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
  • Qualified as a Competent Person under the JORC Code.
  • Extensive experience (>5 years) in a Group or Senior Mine Engineering planning role within the resources sector.
  • Medium, long term and strategic mine planning of sub-level caving, stoping and/or open pit operations.
  • Significant experience in either Open Pit or Underground mine planning and operations.  Experience in both preferred, with experience in sub-level caving highly valued.
  • Current experienced user of Whittle/Surpac/Deswik for open pit and/or Deswik for underground
  • Collaborative and team orientated.
  • A willingness to take a “hands on” approach in order to meet team objectives.
