Geotechnical Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Geotechnical Superintendent for our flagship site in West Africa.
This is a FIFO role and roster would depend on your home base. We offer 6 / 3 or 4 /2 rosters depending on which continent you are flying in from.

The key outcomes for the Geotechnical Superintendent, to be delivered through inspired leadership focused on duty of care, operational discipline, value creation and continuous improvement are:
- Collaborating with the Mining Engineering, Exploration and Geology functions to define geotechnical models, ground support, slope stability and hydrological strategies; inform decisions around future mine designs
- Working with RML Group Technical Services Manager on Corporate led initiatives; owns and leads site based geotechnical components of mining engineering and mine design studies
- Accept accountability for performance of the Geotechnical section and ensure overall quality execution of tasks/services
- Delivering technical leadership to deliver superior operational performance, problem solving solutions and effective management of key technical risks
- Driving operational discipline in alignment with business priorities and expectations through clearly defining what is expected, ensuring understanding of expectations, verifying that expectations are delivered on and leading by example
- Cultivate positive relationships within and across business areas through effective communication and provide constructive feedback to direct reports/peers on a regular basis
- Lead, coach, mentor and support employees and direct reports to understand and deliver on the plan
- Ensure appropriate risk based geotechnical and hydrological processes and controls are in place to allow for the delivery of safe mining operation and capital projects to deliver outcomes consistent with the Company’s OH&S policies and procedures
- Championing, communicating and embedding the adoption of business improvement culture across site within disciplines and with business partners
- Challenging and supporting all parts of the business to deliver sustained improved performance through performance analysis, business improvement project implementation, and personal influence, driving continuous improvement through technical excellence and direction, focusing on value generation through margin improvement
