Sulphide Processing Operations Superintendent


We have an opening for an experienced Sulphide Processing Operations Superintendent to join our team in Syama.

This is a FIFO role and we offer attractive rosters of 4 or 6 weeks on, 2 or 3 weeks off depending on your home country location.  We offer a world class gold mine site for you to work on with a high performing team on site and a great bunch of people.

About this role

Working in close collaboration with Metallurgy and Maintenance, the Sulphide Processing Operations Superintendent is responsible and accountable for delivering optimum performance from the Syama Sulphide Processing Circuit to maximise throughput whilst delivering and sustaining greater than 85% overall plant gold recovery.  The role also provides support Oxide Processing on an as required basis.

Ensures that operational data is analysed, interpreted and control systems tailored accordingly to ensure variances are promptly addressed to deliver performance driven solutions that optimise and continuously improve throughput, flotation and CIL gold recovery and roaster performance to deliver and exceed production targets whilst minimising cost. Works closely with the metallurgists to ensure key plant performance indicators are achieved.

Provide leadership in meeting health, safety, regulatory and environmental compliance expectations.  Accountable for for growing value and delivering National employee advancement in the Sulphide Processing plant.


Experience, Skills and Experience sought:


  • 10 years’ experience at a senior level as a plant metallurgist or production superintendent;
  • Experienced in mineral beneficiation through comminution, CIL, flotation and ideally roasting;
  • Experienced with working with a range of reagents such as cyanide, lime, hydrogen peroxide and flotation reagents;
  • Demonstrated track record in delivering productivity improvements in the mineral processing or refining industries;
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead technical teams;
  • Use to working remotely and with limited assistance;
  • A demonstrated track record in analytical problem solving together with an aptitude to problem solving.
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication and computer skills;
  • French language skills will be viewed favourably; and
  • Familiar with correct application of change management processes.
